Hey all,

I recently decided to upgrade my secondary WD Black HDD to a Seagate SSHD (ST1000DX001)

I did a clone of the drive/partition via AOMEI Backupper and switched the drives over, but now my PC just keeps going back into the bios, even if I remove the secondary HDD and just run my main OS SSD it does the exact same thing, upon placing my WD Black back in everything works fine again, I have no idea what the issue is. :s

Everything is correct, ACHI mode, boot priority is correct, partitions are correct within disk management etc.

I'm currently on 8.1 x64.

i had exactly the same problem with my 2nd hard drive that only had music, videos and downloads on it. ended up just re-installing windows.

I installed EasyBCD and moved the boot files onto the SSD and all is working fine.

No idea why Windows puts the boot files on your secondary HDD, under disk management it even said boot was on my SSD, such lies!

When you first install, you should do so with only one drive connected, that way the error can't occur, add the other drives later.
Windows dumps boot files onto largest drive often, not the actual boot drive.

I see, good to know for the future. I'm glad I found that EasyBCD program though, a really quick fix, was dreading having to reinstall the OS again! :D
