Replacement 2nd monitor

Hi,

Just looking for a little advice.

I have a Samsung Syncmaster T240 as my main (24") monitor and I have an old acer AL1916W(?) as my 2nd monitor.

It's not looking that good anymore and each day seems to be pot luck as to whether or not the words are blurry. Thus I want to replace it.

Ideally I'm looking for something just a little larger around a 22" or so.

I generally use it for keeping internet pages open or at a push playing Football Manager on or watching sky football. Though I hasten to add that my connection speeds are shocking at just 2meg, so I'm not watching anything in HD.

On a side note, I'm curious if I should be using HDMI connections now? My mobo and main monitor have them, but I use another cable (cant quite remember which).

Regards

Lee

*Edit*

I should add that I really do not want to be spending more than £150 and ideally no more than £125.

Check which ports you do have and pick a size. Practically any 22" widescreen will do the job based on what you've said, and they will be 1920*1080 so full HD. Just pick the one that appeals and has ports that suit.

Hi. Thanks for the reply.

I'm lookinag at these two now....CLICK (OC page) for no other reason than they fit the price bracket and I already have a Samsung.

However I have no idea why I should choose one over the other.

My Mobo has 2 x DVI and 1 x HDMI outs. (my main monitor uses one DVI).

Is one better than the other. OC advised that one is a TN panel and the other is VA.

Is HDMI good for monitors?

Regards

Lee

They look pretty similar other than the panel type. I've got an IPS panel as I wanted the colour reproduction. HDMI is fine for monitor connections.

Best bet is to read some reviews and make your decision from there.
