Having finally berated Overclockers long enough that their sending out a replacement for the faulty x850xt I returned in July, I find myself wondering if i'm still being messed around by them.

Having paid £185+VAT(Just over £200) for my AGP x850xt, I got a month and a halfs use out of it before problems started, and I had to move back to my old 9500.

its then taken them 3 and a bit months to turn around, what essentially was a straight replacement job (my card was one of the faulty batch of x850xts from Powercolor Overclockers got earlier in the year, and was completely dead).

Now after repeated phone calls to their service dep. to finally get my replacement, their sending me an AGP Leadtek 7600 GT 256MB GDDR3 (Valued at £114 +VAT).

Would like some advice whether i'm finally getting a reasonable replacement considering the **** i've been put through for the last month and a half trying to find out what the hell had happened to my card.

Will this replacement card (really wish it wasn't an Nvidia :() be upto scratch with my previous card, or preferably better than, as the figures on paper don't add up. (£60 down, 3 and a half months waiting for a simple switch, down from 16 pipes to 12).

Not upto date with new cards as my computers been pretty much crippled all summer waiting for this replacement, so all advice would be appreciated.

I would think that he is owed at least the £60 in the difference in card prices, as for compensation for being messed around, I am not sure of OCUK policy but woth the question.

7600gt is better than x850xt-pe so no need to complain about it. now all you have to hope for is that you don;t get one of the dodgey leadtek cards that have been going around.

I'm not so sure, I can't remember offhand and I'm afraid I'm not about to look it up just now but most places offer only that they will supply something of equal performance which they will have done(it being marginally better). However the relevant legislation(the Distance Selling Regulations) will go into in more depth than I am willing to currently. :)

7600 GT is probs better due to the fact it has SM3.0 on it, its also faster than the 6800 Ultra, which the x850 XT PE was, but as said has the SM3.0 which the x850 didn't have, its a cracking card so i would'nt complain if it were me, and id read the FAQ as your not allowed to say owt bad about these guys on their forums. ;)

I would'nt have posted what ademcg has either, or quoted it tbh. :D

We are just trying to clarify the legal position here in terms of buyers rights but do feel free to RTM one or both posts although I think they are ok. :) It might be actually under the Sale of Goods Act 1979(+ amendments) rather than the DSR but I'm having a total mental block about this for some reason.

I'm pretty sure it should be "of equal or greater value". And in this case, it certainly isn't.

Again I'm not sure you can say that with any degree of certainty, it is a graphics card that is either the equal of, or better than the original so going on current worth/prices it is of "equal or greater value". :)

Finally got the replacement card through, and having been stuck with the old 9600 all summer, must say i'm impressed so far with the cards performance.

One happy customer here at last :D.
