Replacement "bargain" IPS screen online

Hi guys

I have a thinkpad T450 laptop, it's an great machine with the worse screen ever I am sure some of you will know about the awful screen on this model, its TN 1400x900 but with awful colours and black text

I can upgrade the screen to 1080P IPS for like £30-40 from the usual places, seems too good to be true..... I'm guessing it is ?? The genuine lenovo ips panel is like £120...

Before committing to one you may want to check out the compatible part / corresponding model numbers for a particular IPS panel that you are looking for, as some of them out there may be 30 or 40 pin and have slightly different mount fixings etc. Have a scout at other laptop forums based on your T450 to see what IPS screens other owners have used.

Be aware of when purchasing ones off eBay as well, even though it may be compatible the chances are it won't be the exact make / model you are looking for. A lot of sellers out there tend to stock various manufacturers of a particular specification. I was after a better IPS screen for my old Dell laptop a couple of years ago and nearly bit the bullet on a eBay one before then finding the following fact out and in the end I managed to get the exact one I was after from another seller who was stripping another laptop down for parts.

I think for all the trouble it could bring my way i will keep the laptop another year then just get a T470 when they are sub £300 like this one was
