Hi all. I am not a diver myself so must appeal to you lot :)

A mate has lost his car keys after having a bit of a mental breakdown, has no idea if hes put them somwhere or just thrown them away...

So now he has a car he cant get into, a vauxall corsa it is. and so was hoping one of you could point out what best to do.

Does he ask a vauxall rep or try a mobile locksmith?

Depends on how much of a hurry he is in.

A new key can be obtained from Vauxhall that should fit his existing locks (Though he will need to take his documents along to prove he is entitled to buy one)

This will allow him to enter the car.

The key will then need to be coded to the ECU so that you can start it.

If he has the security number with his owners manual bundle (it should be on a credit card style card similar to the radio code) then it is an easy job for a mobile locksmith/Mechanic to do for him.

If not he will have to get it from Vauxhall and they will charge for this.

While you are at it, get two keys! It is foolish not to have a spare!
