Currently running a Thermaltake Kandalf LCS plus sidepanel with the 200mm+ fan from the non-LCS Kandalf.

Anyway I'm looking for a replacement case as its been a big (hot, heavy and awkward to move) dissapointment since I bought it.

Ideally I need :-

1) Space for atleast 6 HDD, ideally something easy to remove and toolless.

2) Good for aircooling, I will initially be using air cooling (for which I need recommendations for my o/c i7 930) although a basic watercooling system is quite probable in the nearish future.

3) Good for a basic watercooling system.

4) Something with good cable organisation. Although few people beside me will ever glance inside the case I hate the rats nest most cases become either when 1st put together or after a couple of upgrades.

5) Ability to take long video card without havent to modify the case, remove half the fittings or having fingers cut to shreds while threading cables. Although I only have a puny HD4870 at the moment, dual GPU replacement is possible.

A quick look around led me to Corsair 700D/800D the major thing putting me off is the shear size, I'm used to full towers but both of these are 2.5inches and longer than my Kandalf!

And why the hell is there £60+ difference (aleast at OcUK) between the cases when the only real difference is a removeable front bay and a windowed side panel! Speaking of which is it cheaper to by a 700D and by a windowed panel seperately (I have heard you can buy them but haven seen them for sale anywhere).

Any recommendations?

If you want guaranteed space for longest possible graphics cards that needs E-ATX depth meaning case has to be big which always makes lifting/carrying case harder.
But weight could be decreased by changing from steel to aluminium.
Also aluminium doesn't seem to be able to make as sharp finger cutting edges as steel even if edges aren't rounded: Good amount of straight cut edges in Lian Li but didn't manage to get a single wound or do "skin peeling" during dozen+ hours of working with it.

Lian Li's PC-A70/71 Alu cases are over one third lighter than similar sized steel cases and take ten 3.5" drives (possible to put two 2.5" drives into one slot), five 5.25" devices and full length PCI(/-e) cards without anything getting in the way of other component.
There aren't much ready cable management but if you manage to bother yourself with some work there's enough space for hiding/wrapping away quite a lot of cable:

Corsair H50 like system would fit straight but by sacrifising three top HDD bays and couple 5.25" bays modified/or pre-modded top panels could take up triple radiator.

As another Alu case Coolermaster ATCS840's top can take up to tripple radiator directly but it has just six HDD bays and weight is just couple kgs less than steel cases.
