replacement coolers

Hi all,

Currently have 2 pcs both with stock coolers

A8 6600k used for Fortnite / apex

Fx6300 used for a bit of everything

Looking at replacing the aging stock coolers for both. the A8 I'm thinking something sub £10 and for the FX around £15-20.

Currently looking at the artic alpine 64 gt for the A8 or would the akasa low profile be worth the extra ?

The fx6300 I'm thinking the zalman performa compact tower ?

Would these be on a par or better than the stock heatsinks ?

dunno how much they go for but im using the wraith prism that came with my 3700x on my old fx6300 system, seems to do a decent job cooling it even with a decent overclock.

CPU air coolers don't wear out. CLCs wear out, air coolers do not, but TIM can go bad after years of use.

I suggest you get some TIM if you don't have any, then remove, clean, and re-install your coolers with new TIM. Fan needs to be cleaned without any water getting into it's motor, but cooler can be wash the cooler in hot water with dish soap then dried in the sun, with blow dryer like used to dry hair, or even warm oven obviously turned off. Make sure ovne is cool enough you can reach in and hold onto rack.
