Hi,

I have a heatsink AK856E with an akasa R127015DU T fan attached.

The fan bearings are making a terrible whining / grinding noise when it runs at higher speeds and I think the ball bearings in the fan have gone.

Can I simply replace the fan and not have to replace the whole heatsink?

I have carried out search for the same model and cannot find one exactly the same with the same amps etc. The label says mine is 0.4 amps and I cannot find one with the "T" at the end of the model number. How important is it to get one exactly and is there a better, quieter one, that someone can point me to?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Axel

Have a read round for the fan dimensions (i think it's 70mm) and get one with a connecter with the same no. of pins as the one you have. I don't think the electrical specs matter too much, you can put 120mm fans on the same header and they still work fine :)
