Replacement Dell XPS 17

My Dell XPS 17 has died on me , dell have said they will replace with another machine

Would this be a good deal , my old Dell XPS 17 spec below

Looks good, apart from the CPU is slower than than your original. Ask them for a proper Quad core.

Your getting a raw deal on the processor, apart from that it's a pretty decent deal.

Not too bad although personally if it was me I'd want like for like. XPS is a higher end range than Inspiron, so I'd want an XPS machine to replace an XPS machine. As the other guys have said, something with a comparable processor as well.

Trouble with the CPU is Dell don't sell any 17" laptops with a quad core.

Except the Alienware 17 or Dell Precision M6800

If the CPU is more important than the screen you would need to switch to a 15" version.

Graphics card is a nice upgrade over the GT555m but the CPU is only a dual core, I would say you want a real quad core CPU.
