Hi,

I currently have a Nikon D2x DSLR that I have use for motorsport as well as general family pics.

We have a new baby and the missus is getting into taking more and more photos with it but it's obviously quite a beast and fairly heavy, especially when SB600 is attached.

I haven't really looked into new Nikon DSLRs and was after some advice on what would be a good replacement for it, that is good IQ, lighter/smaller frame and built in flash would be useful.

Budget is pretty low, pretty much whatever I can sell the D2x for, maybe £300? Would be able to add a little to this if needed. So maybe £500ish

What are my options? Definitely want to stay with Nikon but not sure what

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Awesome. Thanks guys, I think you've confirmed what I was thinking. Had a look in the shops today and the 7000 is a lovely bit of kit. The 5000 range are just too small and entry level. So just got to get mine sold and get my hands on a 7000
