The middle fan on my K2 mount doom seems to have seen better days. It still works, but intermittenly rattles/makes a tappping sound when it speeds up when the cpu is under load.

The middle fan is a 140mm wingboost with 120mm mounts. Specs of it according to Alpenföhn are

Operating voltage: 12 VDC
Fan speed: 300-1100RPM
Fan noise level: 10-19.4 dB(A)
Fan Airflow: 61.62 CFM

The middle fan plugs into the front fan, so both fans are plugged into and controlled by the single pwm cpu header.

Alpenföhn do the wingboost 2, which seems to be the direct replacement, so I was going to go with that, but thought I'd ask see if there's a better fan for the job.

So is there a better go to 140mm for cpu coolers? or should I just stick with the wingboost as that's what was originally there?

Thanks.

Ok, thanks, I'll stick with that then.

I did notice on their site they apparently do

http://www.alpenfoehn.de/en/fans/140-mm/upgrade-fan-olymp

Which is basically the wingboost 2 with a rubber finish to stop vibration, so pretty much exactly what I on their now (normal wingboost looks to be plastic only, so might vibrate), but can't find it anywhere. It's on the accesories page and the olymp can be run with 3 fans so it should be available, but can't find it.

Might have to make a new topic with an appropriate name see if anyone knows what's up with that or where to get it.
