Replacement fan for x850xt?

Case is an Antec SLK3000B one of the cheaper ones from the OC site. It has the fan at the rear drawing the air out, a rather large vent at the front with a dust cover thing, 2 vents at the side one of which has a funnel protruding on the inside which i assume is supposed to line up with the CPU heatsink to draw the air directly out of the case except it doesnt line up with it at all :p

While i had the side panel off it did drop to about 41C but still....

Yours idles at 33C on the stock fan? With my fan at 18% right now and i'm only using firefox to view this site mine is idling at 45C!

really dependent on room temps and case airflow. my system ran at around 35c downstairs in my dinning room when I was building it, I simply moved it up to my cosy bedroom and temps across the board shot up, gfx runs around 38-42 now.
these gfx's are safe up to 100C!! but if you want to sustain a high clock speed the lower the better!

hum, well a case with very good airflow will work best with the side panel ON, when you take the panel off you no longer have cool fresh air being pulled over your cpu and gfx from the case fans (becaue the case vacuum is removed). the fans on the coolers will just sit there circulating its own exhausted air.

I think maybe you could lower your temps by revising the airflow, but your temps are not to be worried about to be fair.

yeah its more annoying!
anyway as it stands the arctic can some times be a pain to fit but is big and cools well + its pretty silent to.
the zalman is a breeze to fit, looks expensive mainly cuz it is (relatively) cools well with low fan speeds, is very silent. and the main reason why I like it so much is cuz it doesn't transfer the gpu heat onto the ram chips like the arctic does. ddr3 runs cool, much cooler than the gfx core, and i like keeping it that way :)

edit: the fact the arctic use a rear exhaust to vent its warm air is a big +

I had an Artic Cooler on my old recently upgraded x850XTPE. Awsome cooler and cheap too.Vents hot case air to atmosphere. Zalmon looks better though.
I need to get rid of both at some point.

Matt

I don't know if I am breaking any rules by asking but how much are you looking for your artic cooler?
