Replacement Fans For H80i

I am looking for some replacement fans for a Corsair H80i. I do not use the installed software so I control the fans via the BIOS with a Splitter on Chassis Fan1. The only problem is that previously on the P9X79 WS boards the fans were fine on the standard profile, quiet when the system was idle or low use and moderate while rendering. But since moving to the Asus X99-E WS the minimal voltage to the fans even on the silent profile causes them to drone away and be pretty loud under load.

So what do people recommend? I would like the holy grail really with nice and quiet idle performance and not too loud under load with decent air flow.

I have tried the Corsair SP120 fans but didn't really rate them and I really don't like the rubber chunk to screw the casefan into rather than the fan housing.

I have stuck a pair of Arctic F12s on for now and they have made a big difference.

The triple pack of Silverstone ones look good and a bit cheaper. Looking at the spec I would say that they will perform almost identically to the Akasa ones.

I can recommend the piranhas as well.. Got them in the sale at 4.99 each & run them on a H100i rad.
Temp rarely exceeds 60c, & with a custom fan profile they are pretty quiet

I have some SP120 High Airflow fans from Corsair, they are ok but pricey at £20 for 2. Think you can get better out there.

The coloured ring you get with them are a good idea if you are colour matching.

yeh that's why we went with the akasa apache fans, good performance, much quieter than the corsair fans and much cheaper. down side is they come in camo colours, so if show and shine is your thing they may not match your rig.

Sorry to hijack the thread but just wondering is this still the best AIO water cooler for CPU's? Anything better for less or similar price to the H80i?

I already have 2 akassa apache fans so will probably just use them instead.

I haven't tried any other AIOs, but can't fault my H80. My FX-8320, overclocked to 4.4Ghz, rarely reaches 50 degrees.

Ok thanks.

I still don't like the idea of water being anywhere near my PC but I don't think I have read about any leaks happening with these coolers... Knowing my luck something will go wrong though :p

I think the 80i is ok but if you have the space get a H105, more cooling and a better placement in the roof.

I have the space for the H105 etc. but I rather have the smaller cooler since I kind of need the 2x140mm exhaust on the top to get rid of the thermal nuclear heat produced by my 290 :p
