Replacement for 7800gt?

Just wondering if you chaps think it is worth replacing my old 7800GT with a newer model of any variety? Or should I hang in there for a bit and wait for affordable x10 cards? Would I see that much of a change given that the TFT I've got has a native screen res of 1280X1024 anyway?

I would have max £250 (ish) to spend. What would you recommend?

Thanks

Alex

Should've bought one of those puppies when I over in the States a couple of weeks ago :( $400=£200

Ah well...

So no point getting anything else in the meantime then?

I am just worried that I won't see any real improvement over my 7800gt due the res I play at anyway? Then again, playing MTW2 last night it all ground to a slideshow for a bit when there were several armies on screen at the same time. Maybe more memory is actually the answer.

I've just borked my 7800gt refitting its waterblock and I'm going to wait for the DX10 cards to come down in price before replacing it.

I'll just have to settle for a few weeks of Football Manager on a 15 quid X300 in the meantime.

oh no, thats gonna be a pain.

Well I've gone for a 1950 XT - mainly because I can get one for £70 (after getting rid of my old card and a few bits and bobs lying around). It is after all the season of good will (to myself). :)

I think that will tide me over for a while anyways.

Cheers
Alex
