Replacement for 9800GX2

I think most people will recommend the 5850. It's what I would buy. Uninstall drivers for current card, turn machine off. Whip out the nvidia card, pop in the ATI card and switch on. Install new drivers and that is all that you should really have to do. Do this first, before tinkering with anything else. Enjoy. :)

I was going to post that EVGA's rma service is crap, but I gues you found that out for your self, I for one will not buy an EVGA product in the future.

£30 extra for the Toxic edition of Sapphire's 5850 over the stock version of Sapphire's 5850... worth it? Core clock speed is up by 40mhz (seems somewhat negligible) and the memory clock speed is up 500mhz, which seems quite a leap.
But not being savvy with what that means exactly, is it worth that little extra?

I'd google for some reviews of the cards. With expensive GPU's I always go for what company offers the best warranty/RMA service.

I'm a big Nvidia fan, but I got fed up of my GTX 280 stuggling with heat issues so I took the plunge and went red with an ATi 5850, have to say I'm very happy, it runs cool and quiet and does everything I need.

Go 5850, I'm sure you will be happy.
