I need to replace a Dell XPS 9570(I7).
Budget is around £2 to 2.5K.

Had thinkpads in the past as well.
Looking for something similar. When I bought the Dell I nearly bought a Thinkpad X1 extreme, but they seem to have stopped doing them now.
I'm looking for hardwearing, solid build, good battery and a bit of gaming.

Is another XPS the way to go?
Is the 1650 ti in it a bit crap now?

Cheers

I'd be buying razer personally with that budget.

You get a metal chassis for a start.

If you want to save money buy a Lenovo legion.

Otherwise Dell G5 or Alienware are good options too.

You have plenty of choice with your budget and I'd stay away from Asus and the likes and limit yourself to the ones I mentioned above.

What if anything is wrong with Asus, HP or MSI laptops out of interest?

Build quality is better with razer, Lenovo and dell especially at your budget.

Razer has metal chassis for instance.

Dell G3 has poor buil quality but the G5 is much better and Alienware should be similar to razer.

I have 2 lenovos, an X1 carbon and a legion.

The X1 is clearly built to be travelled with, its robust, lightweight and great battery, it survives planes, desert and cold easy.

The legion stays at home, its good quality but it's definitely not made to be thrown about and on the go.

I have one that specialises in on the go everywhere the X1 and the legion specialises in sat in one place always plugged in gaming.

I know that doesn't really answer your question but that's just my experience of those 2 models.

Thanks all. Decided to stick with the XPS and get another as I've been happy with it.
I should have mentioned I have an egpu with a 1080ti for home gaming, so seemed a bit daft compromising on portability.
