Hi folks,

I’m a little out of touch with TV’s at the mo, so I’m after some advice, I have a Sony 55x8509c, problem it’s playing up, it often goes into a boot loop, which means the main board is failing. So I’m weiging up whether to get it fixed or get a new set.

i like the Sony, nice enough pic, but it’s 4/5 years old, so would I be able to compare the PQ to low end Hisense or similar or is it a case of spending a decent wedge to get something not hugely better. I reckon It will cost 150 to repair. Or spend 500ish for a new TV. What’s the best bang for buck move peeps?

Its wall mounted anyway, im going to try and get this one repaired for now, managed to find a guy to sort it for £100, apparently its a common fault with the main board flash on this vintage of sony.

Im going to save my money for now, and aim to get a OLED set next year.
