My Corsair CX750M's fan is on its way out, the noise is unbearable and its just out of RMA warrantly period.

Been looking at various options, id rather get a cheaper model if possible but i dont mind paying more for an amazing quality (AND QUIET!!) model.

The SuperNova G2 750W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply looks a really good PSU and would future proof me for upgrades, any other options i should look at?
And also whats the difference between the Gold and Platinum Models?

Or i've also just noticed the Bronze is far cheaper, would that be viable for the spec in my sig?

The difference with Gold and Platinum is the efficiency rating. The Bronze units tend to be built with cheaper/lower-quality internals, the Cosair CS/CX series being an example of this.

The G2 750W is what I've got. It's a great PSU, but for what you're running, you'd get away with the GS 550W or the G2 650W if you want some headroom for overclocking.

You could also consider the XFX XTR 650W, as it's a Gold-rated seasonic unit:

The Corsair RM650i would also be a good choice.

The new generation of GFX cards are going to be more efficient, so long-term 650W will be plenty for any single graphics card setup.

A good quality 550w psu is more than enough for your system even with overclocking so here is a selection of 550-650w units for you to consider:-

My basket at Overclockers UK:

The Superflower units are both single 12v rail designs with the 550w being able to deliver the whole of it's 550w on the 12v rail while the 650w version can deliver 649w on it's 12v rail. Both have 5 year warranties. Be warned that both of these units have bright white leds where you plug the cables in and they cannot be turned off.

The EVGA units are built by Seasonic and once again are both single 12v rail units. The 550w version has a 540w 12v rail while the 650w version has a 648w 12v rail. Both have a 5 year warranty.

The XFX units are also Seasonic built and are both single 12v rail designs. The 550w version has a 540w 12v rail while the 650w version has a 648w 12v rail. Both units once again have a 5 year warranty.

EVGA G2 650w - Basically a Superflower Leadex gold with a different fan, no leds and a longer warranty. Single 650w 12v rail, fully modular and a 7 year warranty.

Other units worth checking out but not available from OCUK due to being out of stock or simply not sold here are:-

EVGA G2 550w - Basically a Superflower Leadex gold with a different fan, no leds and a longer warranty. Single 550w 12v rail, fully modular and a 7 year warranty.

EVGA GQ 650w - FSP built semi-modular unit with a single 12v rail of 650w and a 5 year warranty.

If it were me I would be tracking down a EVGA G2 as they are cracking units and argueably one of the best platforms currently around.
