In 2011, I got a Samsung Galaxy SII (still got it as per my signature) and I was amazed at the screen's bright colours compared to a computer monitor.

So I posted in the Monitors section in 2012 asking for a monitor that had a brighter / clearer picture. I was signposted to the Dell Ultrasharp U2412M (24 as in inches and 12 as in the year number). Superb monitor, what the doctor ordered etc, and I had it for 5 years. In 2017, I upgraded to the U2415M (2015 model), and again I liked the picture clarity and colours. 2 years on, it has developed a fault with the USB hub, so while the picture is still good as new, I will be looking to replace it.

Dell still make Ultrasharp models, but they have abandoned 1920x1200! All of them are 1920x1080 after 2015. So can someone please recommend me a 1920x1200 (or any other 16:10 ratio) that is as good as the Dell Ultrasharps / anything close to Samsung SAMOLED?

My computer runs from a cabinet, so a USB hub is again essential!

1920x1200 / 16:10 because I only have sight in one eye and obviously 4:3 doesn't exist any more.

Sharpness due to visual impairment in my 1 remaining eye.

Extra note: I have used a U2419 (2019, 1920x1080) at work and I don't think the picture is as good as on my U2415. Did the range go downhill after 2015?

I've not seen a 16:10 1920x1200 monitor on sale in awhile - infact I've only seen 3 monitors with a 1200 vertical resolution lately - two of them being the Samsung LC43J890DKUXEN and C43J890 (32:10 aspect) and I can't remember the other.

EDIT: Looks like a load of the old Dells are still available.

Thanks Rroff. I might just go for another U2415 to join my existing one before 16:10 falls down the same pit as 4:3 :)

Edit: looking around a bit, it seems that 2560x1600 is also 16:10 which I didn't realise. I would have to use Windows font scaling though.

Not much of need for scaling... in 30" size. :p
Have been using U3014 for many enough years to forget when I bought it.
