Need to upgrade my Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB, now that GPU stocks are better and I have some upgrade funds.

Price between £250 to £350. AMD or Nvidia.

Got to do 2k at least, doesn't matter about 4k because my eyesight is bad enough not to really be able to tell the difference. I am old, shoot me.

Rest of rig is :

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Eight Core 4.7GHz (Socket AM4)

MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk WiFi (AMD AM4) DDR4 X570 ATX Motherboard

Patriot Viper Steel 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 PC4-28800C18 3600MHz Dual Channel Kit (PVS432G360C8K

Cheers.

Seems a toss up between a 6700 10gb or a 3060 12gb if I spend £350.

Really wondering if its worth spending that much, or where the best bang for buck is in the current GPU ranges.

FWIW, I too don't care about 4k. I also don't care about RT.

Which is why I've stuck with my 1080Ti. Can get them second-hand for about £250-280. Fast card for that kind of money, imho. Of course, if you are prepared to wait until next stock, then 3060Ti FE is a great option if you want new (as has been suggested.)

I'd say it was a 6600 at £249 (a touch weak at 1440p latest games though) or go straight for a 6700 at £350, dealers choice ;)

Both will be a good bump over the 1060 :)

This should help a little;

3060ti FE
This if you can stretch to the £369 + delivery and can wait until a restock happens and you are savvy enough to find where to buy it. It's the best FPS per £ you'll find outside the second hand market. Otherwise what the others are saying.

Either 3060ti FE (they drop on a competitors site) for £369 or i'd personally get a 6600 for £250 and then look to do a full upgrade next year (RDNA3 / RTX4000) as we're looking at the best performance jump in the history of :D
This for sure, if you don't want to stretch then get the 6600 and it should last you a few years. The 5800X/X570 are good for quite a while yet, and shouldn't bottleneck you anytime soon.

I've had a 3060 Ti FE and at £369 it's a cracking card! Was consistently faster than my 2017 Titan Xp ( full fat version ) and handled many of my games at 4k without an issue especially with dlss.. 3060 Ti takes my vote.
