Gtx950 is a bit over £100 and is quite a bit faster than a 580
For under £100 you are looking at something like a second hand 670, or even another 580

Is it? I thought it (the 950) only nosed ahead by a few %?

I couldn't find any reviews that included the 580 so had to use a combination of anand's charts and 950 reviews, but yeah, the 580 was roughly between a 750ti and 760 on anands and the 950 is definitely faster than a 750ti and a bit faster than a 760 in most things
the problem is if you start going "well for an extra £30" because then you go from 950 to 960 2GB to 960 4GB and then you may as well get a 970 lol
