Hi All,

I'm after a bit of advice on a replacement for my Corsair H50 if possible; I'll give you some background info first.

CPU is a 1156 Core i5 760 OC'd to 3.8ghz
Using Crucial Ballisitix Sport memory so clearance should be alright
It's going in a Carbide 300r with a windowed side panel (no plans to mount a fan on the window)

I've just moved my system into a Carbide 300r case, when starting it up I noticed a buzzing noise coming from the pump (managed to isolate it by unplugging each fan at a time).

Never noticed it before but it's definitely not right, tried different fan headers on my mobo but no joy - having had a quick google it looks like the problem was recognised by Corsair but I'm outside of the warranty period so could be stuck.

Just wondering if anyone can suggest a decent replacement? I would be happy to re-use my 2 Akasa Apache fans that I am currently using on the H50 if it keeps the cost down. I know it sounds a bit silly to replace the unit because of a noise but I can tell it's really going to bug me :(

I'm very much out of the loop when it comes to heatsinks but so far I've looked at:

The Phanteks PH-TC14PE
OcUK Tech Labs - Corsair H60 is on TWO at £32.99 without fans which seems good to me?

Any other suggestions or opinions on the above would be much appreciated!

Cheers

Im in the same boat. Bar the noise.. I want to OC further than i did previously and now i have more room...

There are not many coolers out there where its a benifit to spare fans.

Even though that H60 is irresistible.. Id go more in favour of air cooling.

i would say that phanteks or the nh d14..

Though i wouldn't blame you going for the h60.. Great price.
