replacement for Intel® Core2 Duo CPU E4400 @ 2.00GHz

Hi All
I am looking for a replacement for my Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU E4400 @ 2.00GHz Processor.
My PC is a Dell XPS420 with a lg775 socket.
I use my PC for FSX Mainly and music, But the newer the processor the better since i am up-grading and not buying a new PC.
I have been looking at the e6600,core

Going to an E6600 wouldn't be much of an upgrade really, as long as your motherboard supports it I'd go for a Q6600.

Get the g530 celeron and the cheapest 1155 board u can, makes more sense and opens up your options

You should definitely get a Q6600. It will be worth the extra you will spend. They are going for ~£50 in the members market and a bit more on the bay.

Getting a g530 celeron and a1155 would mean a massive upgrade. wouldn't it? I am looking to Use my Old board for easiness.
i would have gone for a quad but my Board would not support it.
I believe that my options are limited with the lg775 socket and mother board.

were is the members market at? is that the deals section on the forum?

Q6600 or E8400 depending your priorities, both around £50 2nd hand.

Subject to the mobo being compatible.

Q6600 second hand. it's well worth the 50 to 60 you'll pay. then sell the e4400 back where you get the quad from. it's worth about 10 to 15 pounds on that well known auction site.

Sorry I'm not really up on these cpus' why would you pick one over the other? How deeply threaded your apps/games are? I'm looking at this and wondering.
