It would appear I've gotten the best out of my trusty 518. I've had it since 2009 and it's starting to show its age, cosmetically and in games. I like the fact that it's a very light weight mouse and wouldn't want anything heavier.

That said am willing to listen to opinions, budge is £50 but would spend the extra if it somethings comes highly recommended :)

I've had 2 518's got my first one when they came out in 2005.

I'm open to suggestions. I'd like wireless as my desk is rather cluttered, but wired means I won't have to always be replacing batteries like I am with my laptop mouse.

Wireless, if you want something with good quality you'd probably want to spend a bit more..

Logitech MX Master or 700

Just replaced my mx518 with a steelseries rival 300 and iam very happy with it, its a similar size, weight and shape.

I still have a fully working MX518. It sits mostly unused as I have moved on to newer types and I like the fact I can also return to it if needs be. Nothing has bettered it but I can adapt to other types and makes. It's like a classic car.... I only get it out on occasions.

With someone who has owned over a handful of 518's (coming from an inteli) and 3x g400 that the quality control is awful, always a wire issue with all 3.
I then moved over to razer Deathadder, then Zowie EC1 (loved this mouse, side button went faulty after 8 months though.)
Now I have a Logitech g402, and WOW this thing feels like a 518, don't be fooled by the pics, and the quality of them IMO is the best mouse they have made.
So if you want the same shape and feel of the 518, get the G402, if something different check out Zowie or steelseries.
