I'm looking for a replacement for my Habu mouse. I'm right handed, and would like two thumb buttons. Ideally I would like a larger style mouse like the Habu, I like the grip I get from this size of mouse.

The Razer Deathadder looks almost like a copy of the MS/Razer Habu but I am extremely reluctant to buy another Razer tech based mouse.

Razer seem to have a tendancy to put tiny (and very thin) Teflon pads on the bottom of their mouse and then try to charge you almost the cost of a new mouse to get replacement pads. I tore through the front pads on my Habu in about 3 months, not cool. I've seen pics of the bottom of newer Razer mice and it seems the trend of ****ty pads continues.

What are the options for large grip mice, with two thumb buttons?

Check out the MX518, its a tough decently designed mouse. I preferred my intellimouse 1.0 but its durability sucked. MX518 is a good replacement.

I had the DeathAdder which was my fav mouse by far. It really was.

But, it died due to usual Razor rubbishness :(

Now using Logitech G9 which is also great and well built.

I currently have a razer deathadder but my next mouse will be a mx518

Reason being is my middle mouse button has moments where it won't work whilst gaming and for the last 2 years, ive had to keep glueing the side buton into place by taking the whole thing apart, general build quility is pretty poor for Razer.

go for mx518

I use a sidewinder X8. Awesome thumb buttons (why more mice don't use this vertical orientation i don't know), replaceable pads which have yet to show any signs of wear after at least 6 months. Solid MS mouse build quality. Looks a little funky in pictures but is really comfortable to use. Doesn't get the love it deserves tbh.

I have previously used Razer Diamonback and Steelseries Ikari lasrer mice and both fell to the same random USB disconnect issue. The Sidewinder is still going after a longer service.

I received a Roccat Kone today. It's a bit bigger than the MS IntelliMouse Explorer v4 I was using previously, but fits my hand nicely.

It's got a changeable weight system underneath, and a really cool custom colour picker for the LEDs on the side of the mouse - once I started playing with it, I reckon it's worth the price just for that feature alone!

Two thumb buttons on the left side of the mouse in the traditional one in front of the other layout, and the left side also has a nice shaped indent for your thumb to sit in.

All in all I'm really pleased with it.

I went from the Habu (mine gave up after years of use) to a Logitech G9 and it's as good as, if not better than, the mouse it replaced.

Very comfortable, very well built, would recommend it wholeheartedly.

The G9 looks look, nice and chunky and there's weight tuning available. This would probably suit my big ham fists ;) cheers.

I just purchased a Razor deathadder and Lycosa keyboard I hope they last at least a couple of years. :S
