Hi All,

My workhorse macbook air is due for a replacement being around 5 years old. I use it daily around the house for browsing, word processing, excel, very light image editing etc. It's my go to device essentially.

I'm looking for the same but with some extra functionality thrown in - I'd like to use it on a plane for films / music and light 1080p (does the screens support 1080p, I assume so?) gaming - WOW, Heroes of the Storm, Diablo 3, Overwatch etc when I'm working away / abroad. So it has to be fairly portable as already be carrying a small work laptop.

I can spend up to £2k-ish, being VAT registered spending 2k or more means I can claim back £400+ VAT (a £2K device becomes £1.6k). I'm thinking of the 15" mac book pro.

Thoughts?

a MBP is going to be poor when it comes to gaming. It will run games, but it will get hot and the fans turn into jet engines.

Got the 15" MacBook Pro with bar thing - base spec I think. It is a very nice laptop (as you'd expect) - just waiting for the DBrand skin to arrive.
