thinking of replacing the Lian Li Mini-Q (PC-Q07), basically at present i have an SSD and an optical drive and i was thinking of adding a 3.5" drive to free up some space on the SSD.

it cant be any taller than the Q07 and i would like to reuse all of my existing parts such as ATX psu, ITX board and full size optical drive..

thinking of the Q08 maybe but its not cheap..

Not a fan of the Q08. It's a bit pudgy, and large enough to be a mATX case. The Q07 and its bigger sister the Q11 are very pretty and it'd be a shame to get rid of it.

Can't you screw in the HDD and velcro bodge the SSD somewhere, say the inside of the front panel? Velcro and SSD's were made for each other. ;)

Failing that, get a laptop HDD and 3.5inch adapter and double up with the SSD.

You can fit a 3.5" at the bottom with a SSD stuck anywhere. I use a external DVD drive as i hardly ever use discs anymore and run 2 3.5" drives. I really dont see the need for you to change case unless you just fancy a change?

Did you not know that you can use both an SSD and a 3.5" drive at the same time in their normal mounting locations? I had that setup for a while. The SSD fits snuggly underneath the hard drive.

not with a graphics card in place, fouls the HS :(

the graphics card wont physically fit in the PCI slot with a 3.5" drive in that position. my only option is to put the 5.25 to 3.5 adapter back in and take the optical drive out..

i already have a 1tb samsung 7.2k, id like to use that for performance and space for lightroom catalogues and PS scratch
