Replacement for Sennheiser PC 373D

Few years ago I bought the rather wonderful PC 373D headset from Sennheiser.

A few days ago, it died. I think there is an intermittent in the cable, as can happen over time and I can't track it down and doesn't look like Sennheiser are supplying replacement surround dongle cables any more. I could get a cable to allow the headset itself to function as a plain stereo set, but meh.

It's still possible to get a shiny new PC 373D from EPOS, who appear to be the current source for Sennheiser gaming kit, but before I do, perhaps there is something else I could consider and so I am here looking for advice.

PC 373D presents both a 7.1 audio for gaming AND a standard stereo for voice comms. This is brilliant for some streaming I do, as I can configure the two devices such that I am streaming the main audio, whilst chatting to buddies on discord, using the stereo device. Saves me messing with virtual audio cables etc. I really like this. Really. A lot.

So ideally, I'm looking for something which is at least as good as the PC 373D in terms of sound quality and 7.1 emulation, whilst also having the dual device functionality. Budget around £200.

I bought a 373D because I couldn't get a Game One and swapped the usb cable for standard stereo one, so I've got a USB cable going spare that I'd sell. :)

Saying that I don't know why anyone would use 5.1 / 7.1 emulation on a headset, I've found some times you can only hear certain sounds if you're looking in that direction and it doesn't sound as clear either.
