Recently been upgrading my system and so far i have;

Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz @ 4.2GHz
Asus X58 Sabertooth
6gb dominator
Prolimatech Megahalems
Antec CP-850
Antec 1200
2 x bfg gtx280's

What new gfx card would be a suitable replacement?

Budget 200-300.

thanks guys

At the point in time, you might as well wait for the launch of the 28nm cards that are coming at the end of the year. "Upgrading" to either a 6970/GTX480/GTX570 won't give you huge boost in performance...

wait for end of the year if you cant wait and you have upgrade itch

two Asus GeForce GTX 560Ti DirectCU II

bit over budget but then you will see significant gain .

Why bother upgrading? There are no games that 280sli wont easily handle currently - if (and big if) PC games start becoming significantly more demanding then think about it imo

I agree SLI 280's has muchos grunt left in them yet.

Only benefit of going 580 is the single card heat saving and extra VRAM if playing on large screen sizes

I'm in a similar situation, I have SLi 285 GTX's and I was tempted to move to a 580GTX to save power and heat but I've decided to wait until there is a cooler card that runs significantly faster than my SLi setup.
