Replacement for virgin hub 3.0

Got a hub 3.0 in looking to replace for internal networking

Thinking so far

hub 3.0 into modem mode
Archer c6 sitting beside it handling
All networking things

second archer c6 hardwired up stairs as an AP. Already have a single cat6 from the living room to the gaming/cinema room upstairs but wifi is shocking upstairs to the point of unusable at the
Moment.


Any thoughts on the above or different recommendations?

There's nothing much wrong with the routing on the hub 3 just the wifi is a bit poo, just stick at access point up stairs in your games room to cover the upstairs and save yourself so money no spend if you already have an archer.

The hub 5.0 is getting released in November so eventually you will get that upgrade. I have never been a fan of any of the routers, straight into modem mode and use a third party for me

Same issue with VM's crappy hub... WiFi is pants. Think I'm just gonna buy a Ubiquiti 6 LR AP and stick it upstairs.
