replacement for xfired 4870's

ok,building my son a pc.now in my pc i got 2 4870's xfired.what single graphics card would give me the same or better still, outperform those if i put the 2 4870's in his pc and get a new card for mine? i game at 1900x1200 res

GTX 480 will out perform them, a 5870 will match them or beat them game depending.

Yep, 460 SLI is also worth considering if you have an SLI compatible mobo, works out cheaper than a 480 but performs better.

ok,so 2 1gb gtx460's in sli will outperform a single gtx480 and be a good upgrade on my 2 4870's xfired.and will they both fit on my ud3r without being too close together

1 more question.will the 2 460's run cooler than the 2 4870's because they do get hot with not much gap between them

I would think that reference 460's will run cooler than reference 4870's, possibly by quite a bit.
