Hi, in my rented accommodation, there was a Yamaha dsp-ax750se powering a 5.1 setup. This has now decided to no longer turn on (changed fuse in plug to no avail).

The landlord has said he isnt interested in repairing/replacing as its very old now, and its just something he left in the flat rather than being something he was particularly supplying.

So now I am looking to get a replacement. They are available on the bay for around 50-80£, but I am wondering if for a little more I could get something that is way more modern.

I know the sub is 100w, not sure on the speakers. They connect via bare wires clipped in the back. I only currently use it for audio from a HTPC (5.1 analogue) and TV (optical). But I could in theory connect up my wii and xbox to it (currently they just go into TV).

Any ideas on cost of a model with similar capabilities but from today rather than yesteryear? I am not willing to spend a huge amount more than the replacement price of the same unit, as I currently have no use for the features, its purely for when I get my own place I figure I may as well get one that will support modern standards.

Yamaha RX-V765. It's one of the few used AV receivers in the £50-£100 price range that has HDMIs but also a 5.1 analogue input.

I can't seem to find that model that cheaply :( it is more like £200 minimum.

I could stretch the budget a bit, or is it worth just getting a like for like replacement for now, and then when I come to buy a full system (speakers etc when I move out) Buying something fancy and specific to my needs then?
