as above i need a replacement fan, ideally i'd love to shove a zalman 700Cu on it as it would be easily set to the lowest speed and still be uber cool. i notice the 700 supports the Geforce 4 Mx isnt that the same as the geforce 3 for mounting holes? can anyone confirm this?

you may be able to get a passive cooler for that card.
well let me know if you come across one :p
the problem im having is most of the coolers out now dont mention Geforce 3 anymore when it comes to compatiblity. i'll have a quick run-around on the net and see if theres anything that crops up....

forget about the cooler might aswell buy a new cheap gfx card that is faster for like £20-30 quid.
what would you suggest? would an x300 be as capable as the Geforce 3?

hmm been looking at the bay, i can get a 2nd hand 9800 AIW for around £45 inc which i think is a steal :)
bare card only though :( so i'd have to go searchin for the odds n ends of the AIW features if i wanted to.

Yeah to be honest as soon as I read the title, my immediate thought was that buying a cooler for a gf3 is a bit of a waste - much better off simply buying a second hand card.

Regarding the 9800 AIW, make sure it has the 256bit memory interface. If you're lucky you might be able to softmod it to 9800pro.

iirc according to some reviews the 9800 AIW was 256Bit and the same performance as the 9800 Pro 128MB?
