My uncles graphics card has died (he decided to spray paint his computer and now it doesn't work despite trying several times to clean the ports). It was a 9800pro!

Anyway, I was just going to pick up a new AGP card for him but will they have a funny power connector on them? The PSU he has just has the standard molex connectors. If it does are there adaptors available?

Also is there anything else that needs to be considered?

I had a 6800GS which needed extra power which was just a molex.

In the rare event of it being a PCI-E connector it should come with a molex adapter in the box.

Great news! Thanks for the info. :)

what does he do on his PC?

The usual, games/movies/net. He's not a serious gamer though, I think at the moment he's playing raven shield or something like that, nothing the 9800pro couldn't handle so I'm sure any of the current cards are going to blow him away!!!

I was thinking of getting the Sapphire ATI Radeon 2600 XT 256MB GDDR3 for him, or would it be worth spending the extra 40pounds on the ATI3850 Pro 512MB? He's using it with a 3.06GHz P4 single core, 2GB RAM. (I wasn't sure if the old system would limit the usefulness of the faster card).
