Replacement iPhone and iTunes - question

Very simple question and so I thought I would come to you guys for advice.

I managed to test my iPhone 3GS to the point of failure last Friday and it has now broken – turns out the iPhone does not like being submerged in water. Who would have guessed!?!?!........................................ ;)

Anyway, I have insurance and they are providing me with a replacement within the next few weeks. So my questions is; how does this work with iTunes?

Obviously I can get all of my apps back on to the new one by linking it, but how do I get it to replace my old phone on my system i.e.: how will it recognise it as ‘My Phone’ and allow me to put all of my apps onto it again and forget about the old phone.

I hope I am being clear here, but I think you guys will get what I mean.

Cheers in advance.

Hi, do you mind me asking who you are insured with, because a similar thing happened to me and they are refusing to replace it with another iPhone offering instead a Galaxy S or a HTC Desire.

no problem - my contract is with 3 and I am on their standard insurance. My claim has not yet been authorised, but from what I read I should be covered.

fingers crossed.
