I have just replaced the battery on my iPhone and it is behaving very strange..

When charging it will quite happily go up to 100%, but if I leave it on the charger it will start to reduce in %'ages.. When leaving it on the charger over night it will normally end up at around 20% in the morning..

The readings do seem a bit random throughout the day aswell, oh, and it does randomly switch off (not often)..

This is the second battery from this seller (got replacement for the first one as I thought it was faulty - it displayed the same behaviour), so I am thinking perhaps its the phone..? Although the original battery charges just fine, but does cut out randomly (due to its age?).

I have uploaded the battery readings right after a full nights charge - can anybody read anything out of these numbers?

Just an update in case somebody else have the same problems.. It turns out the battery (or rather 2 of them, from the same seller on ebay) must have been faulty.. Once replaced with a battery from another seller the phone started charging correctly again..

I guess most people just write them off and throw them in the bin, but the seller promptly refunded the money even after 2 attempts, so full credits to them for that.

Hi can you recommend a seller for an Iphone 5s battery? don't want to end up with a dud (like you did!:p)

I got one that worked well from replacebase in the end, a bit more than on the auction site, but a company with a good reputation. (sorry if i am not allowed to post the name)

Just noted that Apple will replace any iPhone battery for £59.

Is it really worthwhile replacing the battery yourself when you consider the cost of the tools, replacement battery and possibility of damaging your iPhone?

I think £59 is reasonable.

£59 is pretty decent to be fair. I guess worth going down that route if you have a relatively new phone - I changed the battery on my iPhone 5 using a £15 one from an Amazon seller and it went without a hitch, but I'd have gotten Apple to do it for me if I wasn't feeling up to the task.

i ordered one from replacebase as advised by scope, replaced relatively easily, only cost me a tenner or so.

Its like having a new phone again and im very pleased. I think the 5s has a lot of life left in it so saves me from upgrading and forking out a lot of money
