I've replaced the screen for a friend, and it has two faults that I wanted to run past everyone for ideas

Firstly there is a fine white diagonal line on the screen from the top right:

Secondly there is no tinted dot to allow light to pass on to the light sensor, seen here on the old screen:

The replacement screen was purchased from the internet, and no mention was made of it lacking the tinted window, did I miss something when installing? It's definitely not there!

The tinted bit is for the light proximity sensor, does that not work then with this new screen?
I wouldn't of thought it was a major problem.

Also the line is a fault, you could send it back for an exchange but I doubt you fancy fitting a new screen again as its a pain in the ass for that device.

It could be something pushing against the back of the LCD, I have had that before a few times, but it was more of a larger area of pixels, not a neat line.
