I have a Razer Blade laptop which the screen appeared to stop working on. So I got a replacement LCD panel and installed it and still the panel wouldn't display an image.
when I plugged the hdmi cable in I could see my screen on the tv ok so that laptop and gpu does seem to be working. On investigation I discovered that the connector of the display ribbon cable was very hot and wiggling the cable actually got the image back.
So long story short, the display ribbon cable appears to be damaged and I need a replacement. This however is proving difficult.
Does anyone know a good place to get these cables? Other than Dell it seems very difficult to get them for any other laptop.

If its a razer blade then I would assume you can just contact Razer the company and they will help you, whether they will provide you the part I don't know.

Or contact a repair company and whether they can obtain the part for you proving you pay their fees.

I find it strange that the ribbon cable is damaged and wiggling about, i am assuming its deformed somewhat? Because this sounds like there might be a problem with the interlock mechanism of the slot the cable fits into and not the ribbon.

Yeah, it is weird. I don't throw the laptop about and it has no damage on it.

The ribbon cable looks like it's damaged at the end the cable goes into the LCD panel.
Don't know how that could have happened though, as the only way to really damage it would be to take it apart, but I've only taken it apart (for the first time) as it was broken.

Anyhow thanks for the advice.
