Never seen anything like this. Depends how old the laptop is sometimes you can replace the whole shell. Sometimes the screen comes away from the base and the full screen can be replaced. Sometimes you can’t repair neither.
Only if a metal shell was ever an option when the laptop was new, i.e. a higher tier model had a more "up market" chassis. A part could be fabricated but at this stage just get a new laptop as the cost would be prohibitive vs said new laptop.
