hi all

so a week ago i made a thread for a new pc got some suggestions i followed which made it better/slightly cheaper

currently sat in my cart waiting to be bought on wednesday (payday :D )

but the motherboard i was recomended is out of stock n has been for a while
nath showed me a pcu to replace the one i was gunna buy as thats still out of stock

but i figured im defo buying wednesday so itd be nice to have another mobo picked out to buy then, just incase the one i have in my cart is still sold out

current mobo is http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-366-AS

im looking for one with similar features, ie
easy overclocking via software in OS
crossfire support
similar expansion slot's
atleast 4 sata 3gb/s
enough usb 2.0 ports to make my usb hub useless :D

possibly also able to stick this ram into it http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-203-CS

around the same price aswel(maybe slightly more.. but only slightly)
will be throwing in a phenom 2 x4 955be n installing win7

so what can you recomend? thanks in advance :)

you wouldnt know if, say i installed a arctic cooling freezer 7 pro rev 2 would it cover the 1st 2 ram slots? its just ive read a few places it tends to cover them up or some boards..

n well i dont wanna purchase even with the low profile corsair ram just to find out those 1st 2 slots are useless due to the heatsink

couldnt find that, but searched for dimensions on stock phenom 2 heatsink's n artic cooler 7 heatink n got these

Heatsink Dimensions (L x W x H) 92 x 91 x 62 mm << AMD Phenom II AM3 stock cooler
Heatsink Dimensions (L x W x H) 104 x 58 x 126.5 mm << cooler 7
im guessing it would be the length of the cooler 7 compared to the width of the stock cooler id be comparing?

yea from what ive seen/heard amd users have to have it fitted blowing up, which isnt a problem have a top mounted exhaust fan on case
but just worries me id have 2 ram slots unusable

suppose if the xms3 (^^ link) ram ill be using
is small enough i could fit it, but i presume id have to fit the ram first?

ohwell gues ill buy n if the ram fits it fits if not ahwell :P
thanks anyways stulid :) u need some free hardware or something from ocuk for everything u do :P

decided to go with this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-402-AS
as its a little cheaper than the ones you suggested, still has same chipset
and apears to be the "step up" from the original one i was recomended http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-366-AS&groupid=701&catid=1903&subcat=1481

plus with the little extra saved i could afford a better cpu cooler
will be getting this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-036-ZA
so yea just thought id keep you upto date

although applying the TIM scares me a little lol, any tips on it?

oooh.. well gues ill be saving a little extra n get the one u suggested :P
was trying to save a little money lol
