Hi all, my friend has inherited a PC off another friend which wasn't working and hes brought it to me to help him get sorted.

First issue we've run into with it straight away is that the chap who had it before has basically removed all of the modular PSU cables from the PSU so he doesn't have any form of SATA power cables to power his CD-drives and HDD's.

It still has the main ATX power cables on it but he needs the 6 pin modular cables to SATA power to get power to his drives. Are there just standard generic cables you can buy for this or are they specific to PSU manufacturers?

PSU is a Xigmatek iirc - does anyone know where best place to buy them from is?

Cables tend to be psu/manufacturer specific as they all use different pin outs. I suppose your best bet is to contact Xigmatek but their psu's are quite poor and it may end up being cheaper just to buy a brand new decent psu.

Really? That's annoying.

I thought the cables were standardised - they just looked like normal 6 pin types you'd plug into a PCI-e gfx card. Theres some 6 pin slots and 8 pin slots.

Oh well if you definitely can't get replacements then he'll have to buy a new PSU haha!
