The above is my current monitor but its been replaced twice due to issues and now have been refunded for it.

im looking for recommendations for a new screen potential thinking

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...YpL1OddsHLecjjUoD4hzsk_rkttkaoWhoCHNkQAvD_BwE

any other recommendations
atm i play r6 seige,warzone and EFT

whilst id say tarkov is my main game i tend to down scale to 3200 x 1800 to keep 100 fps
siege is fine at 4k
so is war zone

im not against going to a 1440p display but what i do recall that this(acer nitro) next the 165 hz ips i had before this the colours were no where near as good

budget is the 899 refund

bearing in mind that whatever the next flag ship GPU is il be buying it so dont worry to much about specs in pc

atm 8700k 5ghz and radeon 7

any inputs appreciated

Can't find any real reviews for that Asus yet.

3840x2160 sure is still "challenging" resolution for gaming with not much of monitors available.
Already bandwidth needed for high refresh rate has been problem connection wise and then there are requirements for circuitry of monitor itself.
(earlier models using lossy colour subsampling)
Even CES "releases" weren't much of even paper releases, but more like paper announcements for products hopefully coming out at some point.

Having used 2560x1600 for over six years makes 2560x1440 unacceptable downgrade for myself and I've been stuck in pretty much same boat waiting high refresh rate models as only real upgrade choise.

What issues you have with that first monitor?

hi bud the first model the speakers blew so was sent a replacement last week but this one has a strange fault on the hdr that its just black and as the models locked u cannot adjust the brightness in comparison to the one it replaced the colours are very over saturated also i submitted a request to acer and was told to use there software utility but that has no affect to the hdr its as if the monitor cannot power enough to the screen if that makes sense

my wife uses it for work i only game on the PC so for me hdr not important (its crap 400 anyway) but at 950 sheets u want something your happy with ay
i have the returns label but want to have the replacement ordered first ........

I know that you are used to 4K at that size but I would rather go 1440p just for performance reasons. You have a 8700K overclocked so you're good for the lower resolution.

Those games listed are online games so frames per second would be my priority.

My choices would be these.

Obviously out of stock here and there is a slightly cheaper version called the LG Ultragear 27GL83A-B.

I have the ASUS and I think it's a very good monitor. HDR 400 is a waste of time but the performance of this IPS is as good as my Dell S2719DGF if not better.

Hi Whitestar, Yeah I have this monitor so wondered what to look out for. I don't use HDR either - just a poor extra when I wanted 4k high hz particularly. Though I did read that when HDR is on, you cant use many of the other features the tft central review covers this. I have to have the brightness on '3' as it's a bright monitor. The glow is apparent but even and no bleed on mine which is good. Still baulking at the cost of mine really but pleased I have 4k @ 120hz.

As for replacement there isnt much to choose from. As the Acer was one of only 16 monitors recommended by TFT central you may want to look through their list.

Or keep an eye on what's coming out https://www.displayninja.com/new-monitors/

Only thing with that Asus is that it has a fan built into the monitor and I think the panel itself is exactly the same. Don't know how loud it is but could annoy the Mrs when working.

the panel on the last one was brilliant for gaming especially tarkov. i dont know if u play the game but unless im on max brightness and max black level boost ya cannot see in buildings at all its just dark as hell lol
