Hi all,

My Asus P5B Deluxe died and i got a new replacement. A like for like RMA, same one again, but it looks like it may be a new revision of the board maybe. (1.10 i think) Sorry i am at work at the mo so cant check.

So i rebuilt everything back into the case just as it was, same hardware, just a new board.

Was all geared up to reinstall the os but it just booted up as normal, so i had a play and it seems to be working just fine played a game, ran a benchmark all seems good.

So should i still do a fresh install? Do i need to do a fresh install?

What do you think? :)

Obviously doing a fresh install would be the "right" thing to do just to ease any potential problems, but if it works then I personally wouldnt bother.

If it's exactly the same except for the revision then as there's no major hardware diffs there's no real reason for doing a re-install.

I personally wouldn't do a re-install if I was happy with the state of the current install.

My thoughts exactly, The current install was only a week old before the board died so it wouldn't be a major hassle, just rather not.

I'll keep an eye on it to see if all is ok, if it behaves itself then i leave it as it is.

Thanks guys.
