Hi guys need a bit of help on something, i currently have a computer build but the motherboard has died, one of the chips has cracked and the whole thing wont power up, first question is could this be repaired if not so be it.

i already have an i7 lga2011 processor and ddr3 ram but i can't seem to find a motherboard to suit, so i've bought ddr4 ram but need a board and processor.

Ideally would like to keep the stuff I've already got but if not then i can build a new one.
Looking to spend at most £300.

I've had the PSU tested and the voltage is all fine and I've plugged it into another board and it powered up fine. The problem is we had bad weather the other week which in turn blew one of my usb 3 sockets and the ethernet port, it still booted up fine but when i turned it off it stopped working then noticed the chip broke.

What i wanted to do is just get a new board but i cant seem to find one that does both ddr3 and the LGA2011 chip.

I have more money to put towards it i just don't really want to considering I've got all the parts but no board.

Before anyone says i should have had a surge protector...i know my own stupid fault :(

Presume you have X79 at the moment? Any warranty left on the board?

If you can't get a motherboard. You could sell the cpu and ddr3 ram and put that with the £300, this should get you X99 cpu and motherboard.

That is correct, my damaged motherboard is a gigabyte GA-X79-UD3.

I'm going up to overclockers tomorrow, so what would you guys recommend that could keep up with my previous spec?
