Hi,

So i have https://www.overclockers.co.uk/xfx-...plus-gold-modular-power-supply-ca-009-xf.html as my PSU, its been (and continues to be) an absolute beast for almost 10 years, and its still going strong.

However, over the course of time, and rebuilds, I have lost a few cables for it, which has been fine until now, as I always had the one pci e cable (12pin to 2x8pin).

I want a 4090 however, and now im trying to locate a standalone cable for this - ive been on the lookout but struggling to find anything.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Cheers

Do XFX not provide support for their PSUs anymore?

You might be able to use cables based on the same platform, but this is very dubious (and liable to fry stuff) so I don't think I'd recommend it :o (I believe the OEM for that wattage is Seasonic, so you could try asking them)

Alternatively, you could ask a custom cable manufacturer what they suggest?

I'm not sure you'll be able to get a native cable though unfortunately, not for a PSU that old. Replacement PCI-E cables is more likely, if that would help.

The new AMD cards will be using 2x8 pin, so there's that.

I had a quick look on XFX's site but really, the psu is so old I cant see anything on there.

I have clocked a couple on amazon now, but with the whole 4090 power issues...I think ill speak to a custom manufacturer as you suggest.

As for the 7900's I cant see them being in stock - besides I think id prefer a 3rd party AIB I think they are likley to clock quite a bit higher (but again, ill need 3 connectors again).

FOod for thought I guess, Cheers
