My SE W850i was recently stolen - the insurance company have offered the Nokia 6288 as replacement. Is this a good deal or should I hold out for the W850i?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys - the insurance company have appointed someone to replace the phone - they're saying that they have no stock of the 850. Is there any other phone I should ask for?

I was in the same position a couple of years ago, and insisted on the money instead.

After a couple of telephone conversations with supervisors, a cheque arrived within a week - enough to buy the replacement elsewhere and have some money over. :)

If you can't do as Rambaud suggested, you could try for the W610i or maybe even the W880i.

I assume you use the phone more for music rather than the camera (being a W-series). Otherwise, maybe the K550i/K800i: the latter being the higher spec one and therefore more expensive.

W580i would be a reasonable replacement, or you could push for something like the S500i (slider phone for slider phone please!) ;)

The W580i and S500i are almost exactly the same phone (in the same way the K750i and W800i are).

The differences are Walkman software on the W580, plus a pedometer and TrackID, and a couple of other bits.

Hardware is exactly the same.

Might be worth pushing for the K810i, but they are considerably more expensive than the K800i (I have no idea why).

/Edit: My typing's appalling this evening
