Replacement pump (possibly res too)

2 years ago I purchased a kit:

The pump has always been a bit weedy and it seems to be getting worse, temps started rising even before the warm weather recently. So, I'm now looking for a replacement pump. I don't think I'll find anything that will directly replace the pump in the res, so I suspect the simplest solution is to keep the res/pump as just a res and add an external pump. Looks aren't important but cost is, hence re-using the res.

If I keep the res, I'll need extra fittings for the new pump, I can't seem to find any hose clips in stock that fit (16mm OD), or am I simply being blind?

Suggestions greatly appreciated.

ive been using one of the magicool 450 pumps, cheap and cheerful and pushes thru my 420 rad and gpu and cpu blocks.

You say that the pump is getting worse ? , first thing i would be doing is draining the loop and stripping down the cpu block, you'll probably find it full of nastys and that whats inhibiting your flow. I thought a while ago that my D5 pump was on its way out , turned out to be the cpu block , the jet plate and fins were practically blocked restricting the flow of the loop. Blocks act like filters and catch everything.

It looks like the pump is sometimes stopping, I can't find any specs on it to see if it has a thermal cutout or some other safety features. I'll take a closer look at the weekend when I have a bit more time for an in-depth look/clean, in the meantime, it wouldn't hurt to have some spare kit. I'm almost tempted to get a central heating pump, but I'm a little worried about mixing metals... This guy wasn't too concerned though:

(I'd only be using the pump though, lol)

There are some plenty cheap pumps from the far East that get reasonable reviews. Handy as a emergency backup, or for component testing/flushing.

Having taken apart a simple USB charger that came with something that came from the east, I'm apprehensive about the safety of anything that attaches to a capable supply, though I guess the water would put the fire out :D

On a related note, would these be a suitable replacement for the rather basic port connections in my kit:

It would make it much easier for me to pipe it up properly.... (not going to post pics of this build!)
