I ordered a P5W, E6300 and 2GB Geil PC6400 CAS4, but one of the DIMMs is faulty. I've tried both sticks on the same slot and the machine won't post with one, but is fine with the other. I rang up and am sorting the RMA, decided to get a refund and order something else, as I don't have any spare RAM while it gets sorted. Plan is to order 2GB of something else, and once that arrives return the faulty stuff and wait for the refund.

I've been looking at
(2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit (F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ) (MY-013-GS)
or
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C4 TwinX (2x1GB) (MY-108-CS)

But I'm not sure what would be best for this board, which should I go for?

I gone for the same exact thing you gone for except I got the E6600. I was originally going for the G Skill 2x1GB PC6400 HZ Series but the fella on the phone advised me to get the Geil ones. Hope mine don't turn out to be faulty :(

Apparently the G Skill don't run great on the Intel CPUs not sure about the Corsair ones though, I think they suppose to be fine. Or you could wait for the dominator ones?

im in the same boat, one of my Geil sticks is faulty (377 memtest errors). I have asked for an RMA number, but will I return both sticks or just the one?

I was considering getting another set such as the Gskillz, but at the 109 quid price I got them for , I think I shall try another set...

Give both sticks back. I read somewhere that dual channel works better when they two sticks have the same serial number on them as they were both developed at the same time more or less. Look at the two sticks, on the side there should be a serial number I guarantee they would be the same. You might think there maybe a small difference but at the end of the day you paid for compatible dual channel...

Post back of which memory you get...
