It depends what you want your router for, if its for you with gaming or you and a group no gaming the Billion 7800N had a good fast connection, masses of configurability and very stable. Had mine for months and never had to reset it.
On the downside for managing my families network it really wasn't great. I had to create fixed IP's by making the leases on the dhcp a silly time (didn't want to give the children the ability to change this and affect my control of downtime etc). I never found the time controls for their network usage that good, QOS I failed totally to get to work and it has no stats to speak of.
If you still are looking for a solution and have similar requirements to mine - i.e a familywhose network usage you need to control as well as endeavour to get QOS working then IMHO the best value way of doing this is get a Netgear 3700 (got mine 2 days ago for £65), change the 834 to an adsl modem (yep it can be done - can post a link if you want) then load Gargoyle firmware using the netgear firmware update

Just set this up a couple of days ago but it's feature set has been mind blowing.
* Fixed IP control
* ban pcs who set their own ip
* force DNS
* time controls on network usage down to web pages
* masses of stats
* QOS that actively reduced bandwidth to keep the ping good (still to see this to work!)
* web proxy so you can see searches done on web pages and any web pages visited
Loads more stuff - but does depend on what setup you are trying to achieve
** note only applies to version 1 and 2 of the netgear 3700 - always check list of supported routers on Gargoyles page
