Hi guys,

My one month old SGS2 has developed a fault on the bottom left corner of the screen (it has a slightly whiter patch than the rest of the screen) and am getting a replacement from Tescos tomorrow.

Are there any apps which don't require rooting (Titanium Backups I am looking at you!) which will let me back up all my apps, contacts and the rest for when I get my replacement?

Thanks

I know you said no root, but you should really consider it, it takes seconds.

The best way to do a full backup is with CWM/nandroid.

Rooting would be the easiest way, as you could just make a CWM backup, copy to PC, then restore it on the new phone.

Obviously you're getting the phone replaced tomorrow though, so if you don't have access to a jig to reset the custom binary counter it may be a problem, depending on whether or not they check it before swapping (if you're just swapping it in a shop it shouldn't be a problem, if you have to send it away before they send you a new one it may).

Contacts should be backed up to your GMail account already, check on the GMail website and make sure all your contacts are there. Apps, just make a note of them and redownload, without root you won't be able to access (excluding the occasional app that will let you backup manually) app data to back it up.

I'd just delay the replacement, if possible, for a few days and get a USB jig to reset the counter after you root/backup/unroot :).
